AHHH... im so busy!

So I have kinda been stinking at updating the past week or so and I feel really bad cause there have been so many great amazing things happening.
So I will just go ahead and start with the beginning. HOMECOMING WEEK WAS AMAZING. PLC had an adorable board made by Charity and we won for it! Then all the shopping carts were so cute and very clever! There was one by one of the fraternities which was like a big dragon! haha... I have some pictures of ours that I will put up in a bit. Then later in the week we had the bonfire which was amazing. It was really warm and the band was really fun! Then a big group of us hit up Peppers to eat afterwards. The next day we woke up bright and early and hung out with some future Hillcats at Destination RSU.

After Destination RSU we headed to the tailgate. It was a blast. There were lots of people and different organizations. There was the PIKE car bash and PLC's Egg Bash, as well as music and food. It was really a great time!!!
As you can tell it was a ton of fun! Then we went inside to watch the games. The girls sadly did not win, but the boys won quite well.
Then, it was a party in the boys dorm room, us girls made dinner and we watched the OSU game. It was a lot of fun and we had enough food to last for awhile, or atleast my fruit salad did! haha
Last weekend I got to go to Oklahoma City because my sister got a Silver Medal award for how well she did when she passed the CPA. It was a pretty big deal and we got to tour the capitol, eat at Bourbon Street Cafe, and tour the Memorial. It was really fun and I was glad to spend time with my family. Plus I found out that my cousin will be dancing in the Macy's Day parade on Thanksgiving, which is very exciting I can't wait to see her!
Well work is going well, and I have been doing well in school. I've been pretty stressed out from getting toward the end of the year, so there are finals and essays due and so I'm just trying to get through it all! Thank goodness though that this weekend is Thanksgiving weekend!
I am excited for next semester, I am going in January to Ft.Worth with CRU and then I'm going on a trip to Oklahoma City in February for the Nigh Leadership Academy. I think they will both be great opportunities for me, and I cant wait to go! Well, I am about to head home for the break but I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Can life get anymore hectic?

Last weekend was Halloween, it wasn't too exciting for me, I wanted to go to the PIKE party, but we didn't have costumes together in time. So instead that evening I went to my boyfriends brothers house to help with the trick or treating. All the kids were so adorable!!!

Saturday I went to a wedding, then watched the Texas vs. Texas Tech game, which was very exciting especially toward the end of it. Then, I had lots of studying to do. My classes this week haven't been too brutal. My Anatomy and Physiology teacher has had jury duty this week, so I did not have that class Monday or Wednesday. I got sick this week with gastritis, not fun and the hospital called me out of school for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. However, I had two tests on Thursday so I went anyways, but I don't think it was the greatest idea.

This week was also HOMECOMING WEEK!! It started off by a spirit board contest on Monday, where Charity did an amazing job on the PLC board. Then, Tuesday was where each department decorated for a contest and the enrollment office looks so cute! Wednesday was a scavenger hunt, but I was still in Tulsa recovering so I didn't get to participate, then that evening PLC and Honors took a field trip to Stillwater to watch the basketball game, and sadly enough I couldn't make that either because I wasn't back in time. We also sadly did not win! :( Then, today was the shopping cart parade, where different clubs would decorate shopping carts and roll them through the campus. Tomorrow is the bonfire and The Plumbers will be performing also. Then, Saturday we are participating in Destination RSU, then PLC is having an Egg Bash at the tailgate party and there will also be a car bash so I hear. I'm very excited for all the events and also going to the game!

There will be a lot going on and we hope lots of people can come out and have a great time with us!

Busy Busy Busy...

I have had a ton of things going on lately, which is why it has taken me so long to post. Last week I took my test and I did alright on it, I just hope the rest of the semester in my classes stay as smooth as they have been going so far.

Last Thursday was movie night at the boys' dorm room. We watched Strangers and it was soo scary, not to mention it was a true story! Then Friday night PLC had a booth at the Kiddie Carnival, we all got to dress up and see all the cute kids walk around! And yay.. I have pictures!
Then, later that even we went to eat McDonalds, which I hadn't had in FOREVER! Then, we went down the Trail of Terror. It would have been scary, but all of us were singing and yelling the whole time! haha... Then, Laura, Hope, Holly, and I went and terrorized the boys dorm. We mixed all their shoes up and then went and tagged Kaleb and Chad cars! Oh goodness it never gets old...
Saturday morning I woke up at like 7 A.M. for the Tulsa Run. It was freezing and wayy too early, luckily I was only doing the 2K, and we practically ran the whole way! haha.. After that we went to the Riverwalk for the BBQ festival tasting. It was amazing.. all the BBQ you can eat for $10! That evening I came back to Claremore to see David Boren, the President of OU, and hear him speak about the book of his that I read, "A Letter to America," he seemed really nice and brought up some very important points for our nation. Then, I went and saw Frankenstein and was so confused! I guess the only experience with Frankenstien I have had is seeing pictures, not actually knowing the story. It was still a great performance.
Yesterday I learned how to play Ultimate Frisbee... It's so much fun except I kept getting hurt :(
Next week is Homecoming Week... I can't wait!

Getting Back into Gear

Last week was Fall Break. Breaks are always bittersweet, it's nice to be off but always is worse when you come back. I had quite an eventful break so I had a good time, and didn't think about school once! On Thursday night a big group of us went to Tulsa and stood in like for an hour and a half or so for Nightmare. It was soo scary and it seemed like the people wanted to attack me the most! :( and then we ended the night at IHOP, which is always a great place for late night dinner.

Then, on Friday night I went to the Bishop Kelley vs. Skiatook game, and Kelley smothered Skiatook, it was kinda depressing because the final score was 44-0. I miss going to high school football games, and hopefully I get to go to a Union one before the seasons over!

Saturday was pretty lazy for me, I was toted around a lot running errands and things! haha.. But that evening I went to Oktoberfest with my sister and my boyfriend. We had a good time but only stayed for a couple of hours. Plenty of time to eat a bratwurst and a strawberry newburg.. yummy!! The bus ride was crazy to get there! Our driver almost drove off the road and was very loud! Oh well.. we all had a good time!

Sunday was pretty boring too I guess... went 4 wheeling for a little bit, but then just did some yard work and stuff. Needless to say I was definitely glad to be back here on Monday!

This week has been interesting so far, but in a good way. I started my new job on Monday and it is going great, the ladies I work with are really nice and the work is not difficult at all. Yesterday they sent me and Lindsay to the Mail room to pick up some of the new Spring Schedules for the office and when we got them, I realized I was on the cover. I couldn't believe it! haha.. All my friends are calling me goofy names now, but its pretty cool!

Well I have a big test tomorrow in Physiology, so I'm going to go study, wish me luck!

Finally a Break!!

It's been a busy week with PLC, we are trying to get our fundraising going, as well as our community service events, plus we have kiddie carnival, shopping cart parade, homecoming, trail of terror, and our float for the Claremore parade. We are trying to put everything together and it's quite stressful. At least we have gotten some of the planning done, which definitely helps when it comes to not being complete procrastinators! Hopefully we can get some things changed for next year at least!!

Mid terms were this week and last week. I did well on last weeks, but we will see how I did on today's when I get them back! haha... I studied, but I think luck has something to do with it to, whether you studied the right stuff or not! It will definitely be nice to have a couple of extra days off to relax though! Plus, a couple of my classes have been letting us out early this week and one of my labs was cancelled completely. I hope this doesn't mean they are being nice now so they can torture us later! haha..

Lots of events have been happening on campus this week, a blood drive was today, alcohol awareness day was monday, and our constitution day luncheon is tomorrow. PLC gets to go meet Governor Keating and take a picture with him.

Break is this week, so hopefully I will have lots of stories when I get back. And hopefully I can talk Holly into uploading some of our pictures, since I am still without a computer! :(

Even More Projects and Excitement! :)

Last week, was pretty boring for the first part of it, I think the most exciting thing was that my roommate, me, and Monique stayed up til 1 making picture frames and magnets on Tuesday! haha.. Then the fun began... Thursday afternoon myself plus about 12 other PLC members got the chance to go an Oklahoma Leadership Retreat in Tulsa. It was a ton of fun, we were able to listen to quite a few guest speakers and got a chance to meet other leaders from colleges around Oklahoma. The mixer that night was a little lame, everytime the RSU students would start dancing, no one else would join, they just looked at us! haha.. so we went on a downtown adventure. Then, we went for a late night snack to IHOP... oh goodness, the times at IHOP! The following day we went to three workshops, which for the most part were pretty interesting and gave us all some great ideas that we want to implement here on campus! The retreat was very beneficial and we all, I think, had a great time! And yay i finally got some pictures from the retreat up!!!

I had to work this weekend at Linens N Things again, but this weekend was my last until the holiday season and hopefully it wont be too bad then either. I'm applying for a position here on campus in the Campus Learning Department, or something, I will be finding out more about it soon, so hopefully I will get that chance. It would be nice to walk to work and not waste the gas! So I attempted the fair again on Sunday and got a ride pass, but only rode like 3 rides. I guess the day ride pass made Sunday a popular day because all the lines for the rides were outrageously long! Also, the prices for food were absolutely astounding! I couldn't believe it.. a shishkabob with about 6 small pieces of meat on it was $7!! Thats crazy! But it was still a lot of fun!

As far as school goes, I have a little bit of down time as far as tests go! I ended up making good grades on all my tests on the last go around of test taking. I hope I will be able to do that same thing again! Also, I have a big speech tomorrow over energy drinks, so hopefully that goes well! Wish me luck...

The new start for PLC!

Last week, PLC found out some unfortunate news which was that there were a few people who did not think we should be considered an organization within SGA. This was rather shocking to all of the members and we have now began to kick it into high gear. Each of us are coming up with great new ways to have a high student involvement and plan some great events for all the students to enjoy. Some of the ideas are a little wacky, but I hope that we are able to make them happen so that we lead other students by the activities we put on.

I began working in Tulsa last week and that is sadly not going to last long. There is too much of a drive for what they are offering me. My friend is trying to help me get a job on campus, so I hope everything with that works out! I wish money could just appear cause its too much to worry about with school and friends! haha...

Campus wide capture the flag was last week and I wanted to go really bad, but my roommates all left town and I thought the boys backed out until I drove by and saw them playing! What a disappointment! haha... they will just have to remember that revenge can be rather brutle! just kidding..

I went to the Tulsa State fair this weekend. The funnel cakes were amazing, but I didn't ride any rides. I think we are going back this weekend and we will ride some then. We went to the barn and saw all the cows, coming from someone who didn't grow up around farm animals those cows were gigantic!! We also went around to all the booths and saw what everyone was selling. I haven't been to the fair in about 11 years, so it was a lot of fun for me, but I bet next weekend will be better!

This weekend is the Leadership Convention, which I am going to with a couple of the other PLC officers. I am pretty excited about it we are all staying the night in Tulsa and its going to be a blast. Next post I'm sure I will have lots of stories and pictures to share!

Do I have to get a job?

It is now over a month into the semester and I still am without a job. I tried out a tanning place, but it wasn't as flexible as I was needing, and I ended up staying up until like 3 in the morning finishing my homework because I got home so late. I went back to my old job and asked them if they needed any help and they took my right in. The only bad thing is that it is all the way in Tulsa. Seeing as how it is not the highest paying job I will see how long I will last having to pay for gas and everything. I really like not having to have one because I can get all my homework done and still have plenty of time to have fun and do the activities on campus. So this week will probably be pretty exhausting.

Last week was pretty tame, the most exciting thing I participated in was FCA on Thursday night. We had hot dogs, had a spirit contest and got all pumped for the soccer game that night. Then, we went to the soccer game and welcomed on the boys onto the field where they won the game 3-0. After the game, Holly, Matt, Kaleb, and I headed over to the casino for RSU night, but none of us won! :( Later on we had a movie night and watched a really weird movie, but I definitely stayed up way to late for having class at 9 the next day!

The weekend went well too, I ventured to Stillwater for my best friends birthday, but since there wasn't a game this weekend it wasn't very exciting! Then, on Saturday I went to Skiatook to the Pioneer Day Parade, where we went to a car show, went 4 wheeling, and then watched Travis Kidd and watched fireworks! I guess I was really worn out because I slept a bunch on Sunday, but I was able to get all my laundry done! haha.. The fair is coming up, I'm getting excited because I haven't been in forever! Lets just hope I don't have to work constantly!

Cramming for time...

This past week was pretty calm. Test time has finally come, and I'm not enjoying it at all! I had my psychology test last Thursday. It didn't seem to bad, but I haven't seen my grade yet. I have a huge Anatomy test on Wednesday, so I have been studying like crazy for that. Then, I also have a Nutrition test on Thursday, which I need to begin studying for. Hopefully after this attack of tests I'll be able to relax for a little bit before my next group of tests!

Last week my roommate and I hit the gym for the first time this semester. It was definitely needed after all the pizza we had at the FCA laundry night! The rec center is really nice here, and it wasn't too torturous. Hopefully I'll be able to talk her into going with me again. We also were able to finish all of Season 4 of the Office, so we are ready for the new season to come on September 25!

The weekend went well also, Friday I went to my parents house for a cookout while we watched the Jenks vs. Union game. I graduated from Union, so I was glad to see them do a little better this week! Then, Saturday I got to see OSU win and then went to an OU football party that night and watched OU win. It was a pretty exciting weekend, but I must say I'm a little tired of football at this point! Next weekend I'm going to a parade, so that will be a nice relief from all the football games!

I'm going crazy because I have all this homework and things to do and my computer shut down yesterday. It's amazing how much items are taken for granted until you cannot use them anymore. I really hope it can be fixed without sending it in! Well until next time.. later!

A great start to my college experience

So far the past two weeks have been pretty exciting. It started out last Wednesday when I was elected for Freshman Representative in President's Leadership Class. Also, now that I am an officer, I get the opportunity to go to a Leadership Convention in Tulsa with some other people from the class. I am really looking forward to it, and hope it will be as much fun as the ones I went to in high school.

Classes haven't been going to badly, atleast not yet. This semester I am enrolled in Speech, Intro to Psychology, Nutrition, PLC, Dosage Calculations, and Anatomy and Physiology. I have yet to have a test, which means here in the next couple weeks I will probably have a ton of them! My goal is to apply to the nursing program in the spring and be admitted next fall, so I am really trying to do well in all of my classes so that I won't have any problems getting in.

Despite the bad weather it has been a pretty fun week. I took advantage of the $1 bowling on Wednesday and had a lot of fun, even though I didn't do so well! There was a lot of RSU students there, and I was surprised that I hadn't heard about it before this week! Then, on Thursday we ventured over to Oolagah High School and watched the Oolagah vs. Claremore football game. The snocones, although were not nearly as good as Josh's Sno Shacks, made the night all the more amazing, and the ride home put the icing on the cake... we'll just say I partially lost my voice that night! haha.. Claremore won, which some of my friends graduated from Oolagah, so it was kind of a bummer, but we still had a good time.

This week it was kind of raining and my advice to everyone is make sure you have a steardy umbrella, mine fell apart the first time I used it! That was not a good day! It's starting to get cool, but hopefully we will still have a little time to spend at the volleyball court and possibly the pool before it gets too cold.

PLC Trip to Ft. Worth

The dreaded time came, 4:30 A.M. I did not want to get out of bed, but with the anticipation of what was to come I rolled out of bed. Luckily my roommate had advised me to pack the night before, so all I had to do was get dressed and go. Running late, me and my roommates literally ran to the bus barely making it before it left. After a couple hours of riding on the bus we arrived in Oklahoma City where we then took the Heartland Flyer to Ft. Worth. Now, many of you may think this is a plane as I did at first, but surprisingly we were taking a passenger train down to Texas. It was a really cool experience and much more roomy than the bus! And I don't think any of us will forget the crazy concession lady that had to be told everyone's life story. After we arrived in Ft. Worth, we went straight to Billy Bob's, yes that is the world's largest honky tonk. While we were there we ate lunch and did a little line dancing, which was a lot of fun even for those of us who kept running, or bouncing, into each other.

After our fun at Billy Bob's we headed toward the Stockyards for a tour and were able to see where they used to buy and sell cattle, and we even got to see a cattle drive. Then, we headed over to a building down the street, which was an old meat packing company, but now is XTO Energy. We toured the building and heard the history of how they restored everything to keep the history of Ft. Worth.

We arrived at our hotel only 30 minutes before we had to meet in the lobby for dinner, and that includes the time it took to assign us all rooms. Unfortunately, my room had been mixed up and we accidentally walked in on a man shaving, a very unusual experience! So my roommates and I only had about 10 minutes to dress up for our fancy dinner that night. We met in lobby and followed Lindsey, the manager of regulatory affairs at XTO Energy, and toured another restored building which XTO now operated out of. This building was especially interesting because it used to be a bank, so we were able to see all the vault and old teller stations. Our group was then taken out to dinner to Del Frisco's, a very nice steak restaurant, which we all ate very well that night and had very full bellies. The night was pleasantly ended by a group of us hanging out in the hot tub at the hotel.

The next morning we toured the Kimbell Art Museum, which not only had great exhibits of well known artists, but had a great story behind the actual building. After seeing the Impressionist Exhibit, we hopped on the bus and headed back to our hotel where we had about five hours of free time at Sundance Square, the downtown area by our hotel. Many of the others went to Barnes & Noble or the little gift shops around the area. However, Holly and I needed a couple of items from the local Target so we talked some of our friends to walk down there with us. It was a little farther than we thought and three miles later we arrived at Target to buy our bathing suit and blanket. Lucky for us, on the way back the Ft. Worth bus offered us a free ride to our hotel, and we made it back in time to get ready for a short meeting and dinner. That evening we went to Joe T. Garcia's for dinner, which is a well known Mexican restaurant that only serves fajitas and enchilada's for entrees. The dinner was great and again our bellies were quite plump, but it didn't stop any of us from ending the night in the hot tub yet again.

Our last day of the trip we went to the city next door, Dallas, and visited the Kennedy Assassination Site, which was really interesting. There were a ton of home videos and pictures that described the event. After the tour, I had my own opinions on what happened. I don't think Lee Harvey Oswald was the only one involved. Once we all made it back on the bus, we headed over to Neiman Marcus, where we had lunch in the Zodiac Room. The food was fabulous, and the shopping afterwards was crazy because everything there is so pricey! Following lunch we went to the Dallas Art Museum, which was much different from the Kimbell Art Museum. In the museum was a lot of abstract art, which were difficult to understand unless you heard the stories behind them. The time now came, we had to say goodbye to Texas and head back to RSU. Right past McAlester, OK, we stopped for lunch at Pete's Place. It was so good, everything was family style and almost every type of food was served. Continuing on our journey back, we made it on campus about 9:30 or 10:00 that night. Exhausted from the trip, all my roommates and I crashed as soon as we got home so we would be rested for our first day of class the next day. This trip was a great start for my first year in college!
